Hell and Space

Hell is misunderstood by majority of people. The word hell in the Bible is mistranslated frequently. There are three different mistranslations in the New Testament and one in the Old Testament. There are different reasons for the mistranslation. One reason could be lack of language knowledge, another could be carry over historic time periods that are lost in the periods of time, or anything else.

First translation

The word hell in Hebrew is שְׁאוֹל
shĕ’owl

The word hell in Greek is ᾅδης
hadēs

Both words mean the same. The description is Orcus, the nether world, the realm of the dead.

Let’s read within this context

Revelation 20:13
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell (In Greek ᾅδης hadēs or in Hebrew שְׁאוֹל shĕ’owl) delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

The second translation

The word hell in Greek is ταρταρόω
tartaroō

The description is the deepest abyss of Hell (In Greek ᾅδης hadēs or in Hebrew שְׁאוֹל shĕ’owl)

Let’s read within this context

2 Peter 2:4
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast themdown to hell (In Greek ταρταρόω tartaroō), and delivered
them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;

The third translation

The word hell in Greek is γέεννα
geenna

The description is the place of the future punishment

Let’s read within this context

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell (In greek γέεννα geenna).

As one could see, the three meanings are three different places.
